Lawsuit: Killing-Spree Ammo Sold To Drunk 20 year-old by Walmart

According to a Huffington Post article published January 5, 2016 and written by Gina Carrano, Walmart is sued for violating a law because on the morning after the Fourth of July of 2015 an employee of it’s Philadelphia store  sold .38 caliber ammunition to a then 20-year-old named Robert Jourdain. According to the lawsuit, the employee was required to question Jourdain to make sure he was 21 years old or older.

Further, the lawsuit alleges that Jourdain entered the store to purchase the ammunition inebriated, either due to drugs or alcohol, after spending a long time in a bar.

The bullets Jourdain purchased from that Walmart store became evidence in a crime spree that resulted in three fatalities.

The families of the victims accuse Walmart and it’s employees for violating gun laws and by failing to use “any precautions, investigation or basic questioning” to ascertain Jourdain’s age.

Walmart contends that its’ employees were not violating the law because Jourdain was claiming he would use the bullets in a rifle, for which the legal age to purchase is 18.
